The Author Dorothy Davis a native Philadelphian and currently resides in the area with her family. The Germantown High School graduate, later attended Howard University and in 1986 received her BS in Electrical Engineering. As a member of the Howard University track team, she achieved status as the first female freshman Track All-American in the 4x400m relay.
Dorothy is the wife of Douglas Davis and mother of three children: Douglas, DeOliver and Drew.
Dorothy is a member of the Philadelphia Chapter of Sisterfriends, an organization devoted to sharing sisterhood; and she is also a member of the ABWA (American Business Women Association).
In addition to working fulll time and raising a family, Dorothy is the founder of YIC (Yours In Christ) Self Publishing. She is also a poet, in her own right. Her poem, Color of Pain was accepted for publication in the book, Tumbling Into Tomorrow.
For leisure Dorothy enjoys writing novels and poetry. She wrote the book Frostbitten to reflect on many of the obstacles she faced as a growing Christian, and young black female in Corporate American.
In the book, Frostbitten, Dorothy reminds her readers that although we live in a world full of color, most of our barriers are still in Black and White. |
